We are Franziska and Stijn, a German and Belgian couple who met in the vineyards of Latour-de-France. Both of us wanted to reconnect with the land after working in big cities. Franziska was the organizer of the Culinary Cinema at the Berlinale, and Stijn was a sommelier.
After working with various winemakers in the region, we purchased the vineyards and the winery in 2020. We now have 3 hectares of vineyards in Roussillon, in the eastern Pyrenees, near the village of Montner. Four years later, our vineyards are cultivated organically. We tend half of our vines by hand and the other half with mechanized methods, all while respecting nature and its cycles. Each plot has its unique characteristics based on the grape variety: one is on slate, and the other on clay. Despite the hot and harsh climate, our grapes are of excellent quality.
In the winery, we work by gravity and intervene as little as possible to achieve the wine we desire. We also strive to be mindful and creative in our use of water and electricity. We are a small operation, taking things step by step, but with great passion.
